Islah Confirms Presidential Council Authority Collapse in Aden

Islah Party, Muslim Brotherhood branch in Yemen, revealed on Saturday the failure of vigorous attempts to restore the authority of the Presidential Council.

Exclusive-alkhabar alyemeni:

This comes in the wake of Islah meetings failure to its members expected in Riyadh.

“Yemen Shabab” channel belongs to Islah party, quoted on sources as saying that Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the council, failed to persuade Saudi Arabia and UAE to pressure on the return of the eight council members’ meetings.

The sources did not reveal the reasons of the refusal, but Saudi Arabia had invited all members of the presidency to Riyadh with the aim of regrouping them, after they were separated due to STC’s control over Aden, but the head of the transitional council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, refused to hold any meetings in Riyadh which led to the cancellation of the meetings that were expected for fear of widening the divisions within the presidency, who has been suffering since the transitional decision to expand militarily in the strongholds of his opponents in eastern Yemen.

The failure of the presidential meetings is an indication to the disintegration of power which only four months have passed since its formation, and Saudi Arabia refuses to rescue it with a deposit, in an affirmation that it will not bet on it in the future, especially in light of the race to conclude an agreement with Sana’a.
