American-Saudi Agreement on Two-State Solution in Yemen, Dispute over Fate of Islah

Diplomatic sources revealed on Tuesday that the United States and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement on the path of the solution in Yemen, while the differences are still centered on the status of Islah.

Exclusive-Alkhabar alyemeni:

The sources reported that US envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, agreed with Saudi officials; the most prominent of them was Ambassador Al Jaber, during his recent visit to Riyadh, to advance the “two-state” solution, north and south.

The sources indicated that the American proposal provides for handing over the south to the transitional government and the north to Anssarallah, and the formation of a joint administration between them.

The American Atlantic Council mentioned in a previous report that American military experts put forward to Saudi Arabia a proposal to define its position on the two-state solution or the Confederation and the status of Islah and oil resource revenues.

The disclosure of these developments comes on the eve of news on the arrival of a Saudi-Omani delegation to Sana’a after days of negotiations in Muscat. Meanwhile, the United States is trying to give a card to Islah by marketing it again, despite Saudi Arabia’s decision.
