Weapon shipment has arrived board a military plane designated for the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s forces in Hadramout province, YPA reported on Saturday.
An official source confirmed that an Emirati military plane arrived yesterday, Friday, at Al-Rayyan airport in Mukalla city, carrying weapons and a number of officers, including foreigners.
The source indicated that the plane unloaded its shipment of weapons and military equipment dispatched for the STC militia to fight its battle against the militants of the “First Military Region” affiliated with Islah Party in the districts of Hadramout.
This comes after the “Hadramout Tribes Alliance” loyal to Saudi Arabia announced that ten thousand tribesmen were recruited to confront the STC militia.
In early January, the UAE sent a military cargo plane carrying a large amount of weapons to the city of Mukalla, while the STC sent about three militia brigades to the city during the past two months from Dhalea, Aden, Lahj and Abyan provinces.
