The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdulkhalek al-Ajri of the Government of Yemen in Sana’a, said that what happened tonight in the capital, Sana’a, was a tragic and painful accident in which dozens of people were killed due to a stampede of citizens during the random distribution of sums of money by some traders without coordination with the Ministry of Interior and without organization, which led to the death and injury of dozens of citizens.
In today’s statement, Brigadier General Al-Ajri explained that upon the arrival of the communication to the Ministry of the Interior, the Metropolitan Secretariat Police and the relevant units moved to the scene, and the deaths and injuries were taken to hospitals, and two traders were seized in charge of the matter.
He stated that the prosecution immediately moved to supervise the minutes of preliminary evidence and conduct investigations on the case to reach all the circumstances and details of the incident, and the final results will be announced as soon as they are completed, God willing.
