UAE arrangements for new negotiations with the Houthis

UAE revealed arrangements on Saturday for the launch of a new round of negotiations between Sana’a (Northern Yemen) and the forces loyal to the coalition.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Al-Ittihad newspaper quoted an official from the delegation of the Maeen government as saying that the parties have agreed to begin the process of exchanging prison visits this week.

The visits will pave the way for the expected round of negotiations to complete the prisoner exchange process.

It was expected that the visits would start in the middle of this month and the new negotiations round would take place at the end of the month, but the process was stalled by a decision from the Maeen government, which justified the move due to the limited time available for preparation.

Visiting prisons is considered a trust-building step to implement the exchange of about 1500 prisoners from both sides.
