Israel’s massacres in Gaza schools have become countless, and residents of the Gaza Strip have taken shelter in schools, believing that they are protected under international humanitarian law. In reality, however, this safety spot does not exist in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation bombed schools, hospitals and other civilian places, and even sites it declared “safe zones” and called on residents to flee them.

According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), at least 64 attacks against schools, an estimated two per day, were recorded in the Gaza Strip over the past month.

The latest Israeli targeting of schools in Gaza occurred yesterday when Israel targeted the Abu Assi school, which shelters hundreds of displaced people, in the Beach refugee camp, west of Gaza City, killing ten Palestinians and injuring more than twenty in an initial toll.

Many videos documented the first moments of the targeting of the Abu Assi school and the panic of the displaced there, and some footage showed charred bodies and severed heads.

This massacre comes shortly after the Israeli occupation soldiers set fire to the “Mahdia Shawa School” in Beit Hanoun, immediately after the arrival of aid trucks, after more than forty days without food.

Soldiers burned the school and all relief items, forcing the displaced to forcibly evacuate.
