A Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza confirmed that approximately 10,000 people are buried under the rubble of destroyed homes in the Gaza Strip.
He noted in a press statement on Monday that “extracting the bodies from under the rubble is a complex process that requires the intervention of multiple parties.”
He called for the provision of “equipment to extract the bodies of the martyrs from under the rubble,” stressing that the situation in Gaza has not changed since the ceasefire.
He added, “We have a long list of the names of the martyrs under the rubble, and we receive daily appeals from families in Gaza regarding the fate of their loved ones.”
He concluded by saying, “There are 4,000 martyrs in Gaza City alone under the rubble, excluding the areas of Tal al-Hawa and al-Zeitoun.”
