Sana’a Praises Iran’s Role in Breaking the Siege and Tells Riyadh: Yemen Today Is Stronger Than Ever

The Yemeni Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, praised on Saturday Iran’s role in breaking the siege imposed on Sana’a International Airport, considering that this initiative reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two peoples and is widely appreciated by Yemenis.

Special Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Abu Ras said in press statements that what happened embodies the difference between “a humanitarian aircraft that came to transport patients and alleviate their suffering, and Saudi aircraft that carry nothing but bombs and missiles to destroy the country.”

He indicated that the Yemeni people will read the messages of these developments and will build their positions and future choices upon them.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sana’a affirmed that Yemen has entered a new phase based on securing rights, breaking the siege, and deterring aggression, directing a message to the Saudi regime that “Yemen today, with God’s help, is stronger than ever.”

He also considered that the Saudi warplanes’ violation of Yemeni airspace constitutes additional evidence of “the Saudi regime’s complete subservience to the Zionists.”

An Iranian civilian aircraft landed at Sana’a International Airport yesterday, Friday, as the first aircraft to break the Saudi siege imposed on Yemen for 11 years, while Saudi warplanes failed to thwart the step after being forced by Sana’a forces’ defenses to leave Yemeni airspace, which they had violated concurrently with the flight.

For its part, Sana’a forces affirmed their rejection of the continued Saudi siege, and that flights between Tehran and Sana’a will continue regardless of the consequences.
