Saudi Arabia Acknowledges the Closure of Several Airports Due to “Houthi” Attacks and Continued Disruptions in Others

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia acknowledged the closure of several international airports as a result of being subjected to Yemeni attacks, while disruptions continued in other airports.

This comes as the air ban announced by Yemen previously begins to take effect.

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation affirmed the closure of Najran and Jizan airports, noting in a statement of its that it is conducting a reassessment of the damages following missile attacks.

The Authority’s statement reported the recording of major damage to the infrastructure of the two international airports.

Najran and Jizan airports are part of a list of airports that witnessed during the past hours disruptions for the second consecutive day.

Satellites and navigation tracking sites showed the changing of the route of several flights at Abha, Jeddah, and Riyadh airports.

The successive developments come a day after Yemen announced the entry into force of the air navigation ban in Saudi Arabia.

The Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Center in Sana’a directed a warning to international airlines to avoid Saudi airspace.

What is happening in Saudi Arabia is a remarkable development in the course of the Yemeni-Saudi confrontations and reveals an aspect of the Yemeni capabilities to impose a new equation.
