After Truce Ending, Saudi Coalition Seizes First Diesel Ship

Sana’a-based Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) reported on Tuesday that the Saudi coalition detained a new diesel ship and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeida despite having UN entry permits.

YPC spokesman Essam al-Mutawakil said the Saudi-led coalition detained the diesel ship “Soprano Serene” despite its inspection in Djibouti and obtaining the permit of the Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNIVM).

Al-Mutawakil pointed out that this ship is still within the entitlements of the second extension of the temporary armistice agreement, which was not spared the obstacles of the siege and arbitrary restrictions.

He held the Saudi coalition and the United Nations responsible for the abusive practices and restrictions and their grave repercussions.
