Sana’a Responds to Russian Mediation with Saudi Arabia

The Salvation Government in Sana’a responded, on Wednesday, to Saudi Arabia’s mediation of Russia in the Yemen file.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a government, Hussein Al-Ezzi, downplayed the value of talking about a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue before neutralizing what he described as the “foreign element,” noting, in a tweet on his social media page, that it is not possible to imagine a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue in light of the survival of the other party. under non-Yemeni leadership.

Al-Ezzi considered ending the Saudi-led coalition in war on Yemen and the exit of foreign forces would open the horizon for sustainable solutions. He also stressed the need to lift the blockade as a humanitarian necessity and to build confidence and peace.

Al-Ezzi was commenting on statements by the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in which he called on Saudi Arabia to make more efforts to reach a comprehensive Yemeni settlement through a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue.

The Russian statements, which come days after intensive meetings with the Sanaa delegation, also coincide with the continuation of the Saudi ambassador in Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, his meetings in Moscow in an attempt to push through Russian mediation with the faltering Omani efforts.
