UN official: End ‘misery’ in Gaza

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in the occupied Palestinian territory, Muhannad Hadi, has called for peace in Gaza, saying that those who do not die from bullets or bombs in the Strip may die due to lack of health care and food.

At the end of a two-day visit to the Gaza Strip, Hadi said: “This misery must end. It’s time for peace and giving people hope. These atrocities are enough.”

“Those who do not die from bullets or bombs may die due to lack of proper health care or lack of food or safe drinking water,” the UN coordinator added.

“The overall situation is catastrophic,” Hadi said, explaining that the health sector is completely deteriorating across Gaza due to the more than year-long war.
