Waste accumulation exacerbates the humanitarian and environmental crisis in Gaza

The war on the Gaza Strip has produced massive amounts of waste, exceeding 3,500 tons per day, and hundreds of landfills have sprung up in many areas, threatening health and environmental disasters.

The Gaza Municipality noted that municipal crews were unable to fully operate due to the occupation’s destruction of more than 80% of its equipment.

The municipality appealed to the international community to assist the municipality in providing machinery and equipment to mitigate the disaster.
