The Chief of Staff and Deputy for Coordination of the Iranian Army, Habibollah Sayyari, said on Thursday that the US will be defeated in the event of a war breaking out with Iran due to the “courage and resilience” of the Iranian armed forces and the support of the people, affirming that this “will remain immortal in history.”
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemen:
Sayyari’s statements came during his visit to the Iranian Aviation Organization and his meeting with official Abuzar Qorban Shiroodi, where he expressed his thanks to the organization for its “voluntary” participation in transporting the bodies of the victims of the frigate “Dena” to the country.
The Iranian military official pointed to what he described as the “massive funeral procession” for the victims of the frigate “Dena,” considering that the popular participation reflected Iranians’ appreciation for what he described as the “sacrifices” of the armed forces.
Sayyari also touched on the first deployment of the Iranian navy in the Mediterranean Sea, stating that this presence, despite sanctions and restrictions, provoked wide reactions among Iran’s adversaries and regional countries and described it as a “source of inspiration” for some countries.
He added that the US, in previous wars, such as in Vietnam and Venezuela, managed to achieve its goals through “assassinations, coups, and acts of sabotage,” but “it will fail before Iran despite possessing enormous defensive capabilities,” according to his expression.
At the conclusion of his speech, Sayyari praised what he described as the “high ability of Iranian society to withstand” in times of war, considering that this popular cohesion multiplies the responsibility of officials to preserve national unity.
