The Yemeni Center for Human Rights: The Saudi Raids on Sana’a Airport Are a War Crime

The Yemeni Center for Human Rights condemned on Monday the Saudi raids that targeted Sana’a International Airport, considering them a war crime and a new escalation within the framework of the aggression and siege imposed on Yemen since 2015.

Special Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The center explained in a statement that targeting the airport and its continued closure have exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, depriving thousands of patients of travel for treatment and disrupting the arrival of aid and medicine.

The statement held Saudi Arabia fully legally responsible for the bombing.

The center’s statement called on the United Nations and the Security Council to urgently intervene to stop what it described as violations, cancel Resolution 2140, lift the siege, and open Sana’a Airport, ports, and crossings.

It warned that continued international silence makes the international community a partner in the suffering of Yemenis.

Saudi Arabia had launched a series of raids on Sana’a Airport coinciding with the return of a Yemeni delegation from Iran, a step considered by Sana’a as a declaration of war according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
