On Monday, a series of powerful Israeli explosions caused part of Mount Qantara in the Marjeyoun district to collapse, while airstrikes continued on several villages in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese National News Agency reported: “Part of Mount Qantara collapsed as a result of a series of powerful and successive Israeli explosions that shook the town.”
In the Tyre district, Israeli drones flew at low altitude over several towns before launching three consecutive airstrikes on the town of Mansouri and the Mashaa neighborhood, according to the agency.
They also flew at low altitude over the southern suburbs of Beirut, the same source reported.
In the Nabatieh district, Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the Al-Baraka Al-Atiqa neighborhood in the town of Zawtar Al-Sharqiya, as well as on Doha Kfar Rumman, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli army carried out a large explosion near Beaufort Castle in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, coinciding with artillery shelling that targeted several towns in the area. These attacks come amid continued Israeli escalation against villages and towns in southern Lebanon, despite an agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv regarding a gradual Israeli withdrawal within a US-sponsored negotiation process.
