The UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council (STC)” militia refused to allow maintenance of road linking the provinces of Taiz, Lahj and Aden.
YPA reported that Local sources said the elements of Transitional militia refused to allow the contractor to transport the equipment for the restoration of Haijat al-Abd Road in al-Maqatira district.
The sources confirmed that the UAE militias detained the project equipment in Mudaraba and Ras al-Ara districts of Lahj province, under the pretext that the maintenance is a step by Islah party to control Bab al-Mandeb strait.
The sources pointed out that the suspension of work on Haijat al-Abd Road caused great suffering to passengers and drivers of vehicles, which prompted them to go through a third road, passing through several areas to arrive to main road towards Aden.
