According to a statement issued by the US Department of Defense, the operation brings together countries including the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain.

The tasks of this operation will be to jointly counter Yemeni operations against Israeli ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Observers believe Washington has failed to form an international coalition it wanted that was broader than the 39-nation force 153, some of which refused to take part in missions to protect Israeli ships.

The United States has reportedly failed to mobilize Arab countries to this alliance, as well as Asian countries and even European countries.
