The government media office in Gaza reported that more than a thousand children and patients lost their lives as a result of preventing the Israeli occupation forces from receiving treatment outside the Gaza Strip. The office also noted that the occupation prevented the travel of 25,000 other patients.
The director of the office, Ismail Al-Thawabta, explained that the Israeli occupation continues to destroy the health system in Gaza, preventing the entry of all medical supplies, in addition to preventing the entry of humanitarian aid trucks into the Gaza Strip.
These measures exacerbate famine in Gaza and increase the suffering of the population, he said.
Al-Thawabteh called for the urgent opening of Rafah crossing to bring in aid and allow the transfer of patients for treatment abroad. He also appealed to the international community to pressure the occupation to stop what he described as the ongoing war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, which has caused the death of children as a result of malnutrition.
