The genocide in Gaza is an attempt to impose a “second Nakba”

British politician Jeremy Corbyn affirmed on Saturday his rejection of the Israeli government’s policy of displacing Palestinians, considering the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people and the continued bombardment of the Gaza Strip an attempt to impose a “second Nakba.” Corbyn, leader of the UK Independence Party and former leader of the Labour Party, called for the rights of the Palestinian people and condemned the Israeli government’s policy of displacing Palestinians.

Speaking from the heart of a pro-Palestinian demonstration in London, Corbyn said, “We are demonstrating today to commemorate the Nakba, when 700,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes.”

The prominent British politician emphasized that “the genocide against the Palestinian people and the ongoing bombardment of Gaza are attempting to impose a second Nakba by forcing two million people out of Gaza. But this has not stopped the Israeli bombardment, nor the continued alteration of the borders between Gaza and Israel to make Gaza smaller and smaller.” Corbyn indicated that his presence at today’s demonstration, coinciding with the commemoration of the Nakba, was in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. He condemned the violence of the settlers, which is supported and armed by the Israeli government, noting the killing of families, the burning of villages, and the destruction of crops and olive trees, adding: “That is why we are here in solidarity with them.”
