The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sana’a, Abdulqader Al-Murtada, held the other party (the coalition and its factions) fully responsible for causing the delay or failure of the implementation of the agreed-upon prisoner exchange deal, affirming Sana’a’s readiness and completion of all required procedures and obligations to proceed with implementation immediately.
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Al-Murtada explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the delay in completing the exchange process is directly due to the other party’s procrastination in fulfilling its commitments, despite the National Committee’s full readiness to proceed with the deal based on the pre-agreed date and schedule.
Al-Murtada pointed out that the other party refused to include the remaining prisoners in its custody, a position that constituted a fundamental obstacle to the implementation of the agreement at its specified time, denouncing the other party’s attempts to mislead public opinion by glossing over a number of fundamental points and pillars that were agreed upon as an integral part of the agreement and before the actual start of the exchange process.
The head of the Prisoners’ Committee reported that the committee has renewed its confirmation to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross of its full readiness to launch the deal as soon as the other party commits to what it signed without backtracking.
Al-Murtada concluded his statement by renewing the covenant and the steadfast stance of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs and its full commitment to ending the suffering of prisoners as soon as the other party shows seriousness and fulfills all points and pledges, warning them of the consequences of continuing to obstruct this humanitarian file.
