Saudi-led Coalition Seizes 4th Fuel Ship Despite Truce: Sana’a

The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sana’a confirmed on Thursday that the Saudi-led coalition seized a new fuel ship, in a new violation of the announced truce.

The official spokesman for the company, Issam Al-Mutawakel, stated on his Twitter page that the coalition seized the ship “BSS Energy” loaded with more than 28,000 tons of diesel and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeida despite it has been inspected and given an entry permit by the United Nations.

He added by detaining this ship brings the number of impounded ships to four fuel ships, all of which were inspected and have UN entry permits.

The spokesman condemned the silence of the United Nations, which did not take any positive action to curb the maritime piracy of the coalition, pointing out that the continued detention of oil derivatives ships doubles the suffering of the Yemeni people.
