UNRWA: We fear the worst is yet to come in Gaza

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said on his X account: “We fear the worst is yet to come, as the ground invasion continues, separating north and south.”

Evacuation orders have forced people to flee, affecting tens of thousands. The vast majority of them were already displaced, treated like balls tossed about since the start of the war nearly a year and a half ago.

In the past few days, five more UNRWA staff members have been confirmed killed, bringing the death toll to 284. They were teachers, doctors, and nurses: serving the most vulnerable.

Meanwhile, the blockade on the besieged, war-torn Strip intensifies.

For nearly three weeks, Israeli authorities have continued to prevent the entry of any humanitarian aid or essential commercial supplies.

Before our eyes, the people of Gaza are repeatedly experiencing their worst nightmares, in an endless series of inhuman tragedies.
