Medical Relief Director in northern Gaza, Mohammed Abu Afsh, said around 9,300 cases of contagious skin diseases were recorded in the past two weeks across 130 health centers, warning of a worsening outbreak amid severe shortages of medicines and supplies.
He said cases include chickenpox, scabies, lice, and cautioned that overcrowded shelters and displacement camps are accelerating the spread, alongside water- and food-borne illnesses.
Abu Afsh added that the health sector is suffering from a critical lack of essential and chronic disease medications due to the ongoing blockade
