The Saudi-Yemeni border witnessed a new development on Wednesday with the recording of a military operation in its depth.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Tribal sources in Hadhramaut reported that “unidentified” armed fighters attacked a center of Saudi forces at the Al-Wade’a border crossing in eastern Yemen.
The attackers concentrated fire on Saudi soldiers and officers, resulting in casualties among them.
The sources indicated that the attackers managed to withdraw into the border desert.
The attack is a notable development in the course of escalating operations in this area in recent days, as Sana’a forces had previously announced the execution of several aerial attacks targeting Saudi mobilizations coming to Yemen.
The new attack comes amid developments in Hadhramaut, most notably the escalation of Emirati factions within the program of “expelling the Saudi occupation,” in addition to Saudi Arabia killing individuals it claimed were “ISIS” leaders.
The nature and motives of the attack are not yet clear, but it is a notable development in the course of confrontations with Saudi Arabia in Yemen, north and south, and an indicator of the transfer of operations to the Saudi depth.
