Sana’a Sentences Four Bloggers to Prison for Electronic Crimes

The Specialized Criminal Court in Sana’a convicted on Tuesday four bloggers of electronic publishing crimes.

The ruling ruled that the first convict, Allao, be sentenced to three years in prison, the second convict, Al-Moumri, to one and a half years in prison, the third convict, Hajar, to one year in prison, and the fourth convict, Al-Mesbahi, to six months in prison, starting from the date of their arrest.

The ruling also included the confiscation of the convicts’ phones and the closure of their YouTube channels.

The four bloggers appeared in court during the past few days after being convicted of electronic publishing crimes.

The verdict included closing the channels and accounts of the convicts, from the first to the third, on social media sites.

The accusations, whose confessions were published by the Security Media Center of the Ministry of Interior in Sana’a, in a video clip, included disturbing security and peace by broadcasting false news, in addition to defaming people and extorting citizens for material gain.
